BRENDA CABRERA

La Habana, 1997

Visual artist and designer. Graduated from San Alejandro Academy and the University of Arts (ISA). Her work develops in media such as drawing, painting and NFT. She has founded a universe of Prototypes: hybrid characters who design their own coexistence policies, and coexist in an autonomous ecosystem designed from a reinterpretation of domestic politics, gender roles, construction of identity in contemporaneity and vicissitudes in virtuality.

Her work was presented in a conference “Oh, God… you’re pregnant! Sexual exploitation and the survival of the monster in Cuban art from Wifredo Lam to Brenda Cabrera” by Rubens Riol, at the international symposium Teratophilia: Transmedial Representations of Hybrid Sexualities by New York University (NYU).

She recently won the acquisition prize VOX Libera: Mujeres que inspiran, awarded for the first time at the 20 edition of International Art Fair of Bogotá ARTBO. Her work belongs to Luciano Méndez collection and VOX Libera, by Analía Miskowiec.

She has participated in major international art fairs including Art Basel Miami Beach (2025), ZONA MACO (2026), ARCOmadrid (2026) and Contemporary Art Now (2025, 2026), consolidating her presence across Europe and the Americas. Her work has also been featured in Forbes México.
