VIOLA
SEVILLA, 1984
Fran Ramírez Viola, whose artistic name is VIOLA, is a Spanish neo-pop artist whose work aims to transform and decontextualize the image, creating through their art an eclectic and daring iconography where the critical element emerges through compositions. By merging the essence of anime under the influence of animation in general and particularly Studio Ghibli, they develop female characters influenced by Asian aesthetics but born in Andalusia, exuding an ethereal serenity and captivating vitality that sparks the viewer's imagination about their own inner journey.
The artist captures the fluidity of nature and the grace of the fantastical in every detail, transcending the visual to engage in an intimate dialogue with the spectator. This Sevillian artist has exhibited in Spanish galleries such as Yusto-Giner, Fucares, or Birimbao, as well as in international contemporary art fairs like ARCO Madrid, ESTAMPA, or Just LX Lisboa. His work can be found in collections in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
